10.38AM: Glenn Mills, the Auckland man charged with knowingly exposing young men to HIV, has this morning been held over to appear for an oral evidence application in mid-November. Glenn Mills (file photo) The ex-commuter train driver who lived in Wellington before moving to Auckland faces fourteen charges relating to seven current complainants: six counts of intent to infect with HIV, one of attempt to infect, as well as six counts of grievous bodily harm and one of attempted grievous bodily harm. Five young men have tested positive for HIV since allegedly having sexual contact with Mills. In a brief court appearance Mills, who was arrested on May 28 and has been remanded in custody since then, appeared calm and expressionless, conservatively dressed and with flecks of grey apparent in his previously uniformly black hair. A large media contingent was in court this morning, including television cameras which were denied permission to film the proceedings. A young past boyfriend of Mills was also observing, as were representatives of the NZ AIDS Foundation and Body Positive Auckland. Mills is scheduled to reappear on November 17th.
