Fri 11 Sep 2009 In: New Zealand Daily News View at Wayback

Auckland's new regular bar night for women will feature prizes, hip-hop shows, pool tables and hot girls, says promoter Kelvery Longopoa. Starting tonight and on the second Friday of each month, Lips will be held at Pull bar behind the K' Road Ballroom. Longopoa describes the night as "an exciting new gay friendly club night for women in a safe venue to be enjoyed each month. "Be sure to head along to meet sexy women while enjoying a glass of wine or two and perhaps a game of pool. Later in the night DJ Tenali will excite your senses with sexy soulful beats, lightly sauteed in urban hip hop." Lips' opens tonight at 10pm, with $10 entry fee at the door. GIRLS' DELIGHT Central Auckland is also home to several other regular women's bar events. The popular Flirt nights happen upstairs at K' Road's Purple bar every second Saturday night. Lesbians in Charge is hosted by Kamo bar on the fourth Friday night of each month, while Velvet Alley women only bar/club is held every fourth Saturday of the month on Cross Street. Each week Ponsonby Road's Dorothy's Sister bar hosts their relaxed Girl Thursday evenings.     Full details of all these events and more are in GayNZ.com's regularly updated Events Guide.
