Respected lesbian showbiz and fashion photographer Annie Leibovitz is in serious money trouble which may see her lose the copyright to all her famous pictures. Broke? Annie Leibovitz A midnight deadline for her to pay back her whopping US$24million (NZ$34.5million) loan has passed, and she had put up the rights to several houses and her complete catalogue of photographs. As the New York Times explains: "one of the world's most successful photographers essentially pawned every snap of the shutter she had made or will make until the loans are paid off." Leibovitz's most famous images include a picture of John Lennon taken just hours before he was killed, and a naked portrait of a very pregnant Demi Moore for the cover of Vanity Fair.
