Yesterday was one of the best days of the ski season, with crystal clear skies and great conditions, says an Aucklander down in Queenstown for Gay Ski Week. Blue sky over Queenstown this morning. Pic: MetService Experienced skier Simon Clark enjoyed the Cardrona slopes yesterday and is set for a night skiing adventure tonight with his Gay Ski Week pals. Now in its seventh year, the week is still popular particularly with Australian men, who fill up Queenstown's bars each night. Several local bars are showing off rainbow decorations to welcome the visitors. Last night's 'Queenstown's Got Talent' karaoke night at Ski City Casino saw the bar and gambling areas packed with gay partygoers, as popular Sydney drag diva Kitty Glitter led the singing. Weather watcher MetService predicts it'll be blue skies for the rest of Ski Week, which climaxes tomorrow night with the annual 'White Out' party at the Thirsty Ram on Crossover Street. The party's organisers say tickets have sold well, with many Kiwis travelling from around the South Island to attend.
