Gay MP Chris Carter is an extravagant moaner, pink is the new brown PC-wise and Labour's gay-friendly stance is a "sycophantic culture" according to a front page editorial in today's issue of Truth newspaper. Chris Carter MP Truth, which has been trying to attract gay advertisers and readers into a small gay lifestyle section, is reacting to Carter's allegation that his travel expenses were under the media microscope because he is gay and his partner frequently travels with him on official business. "Perhaps it is no surprise pink has become the new brown and that some of us now stand accused of homophobia," says Truth, in a reference to sensitivities over what it calls "Treaty issues and other Maori matters." Truth describes the last Labour administration as one which "bent over backwards to champion the rights of centre-left lesbians, gays, bisexuals and the 'transgender' types." "And there was no bigger public celebration of that sycophantic and politically correct culture when Carter 'wed' long-time boyfriend and school principal [Peter] Kaiser in 2007." Figures released last week show that Carter was one of the highest spending Labour MPs in opposition and before that was high on the list as a Cabinet Minister when it came to expenses relating to travel.
