The History Boys try their uniforms for size

The cast of The History Boys, planned for Auckland's Maidment Theatre this October, have met for a photoshoot in their school uniforms and now share a behind-the-scenes video with GayNZ.com readers. History boy: Harry McNaughton Openly-gay playwright Alan Bennett's six-time Tony Award-winning play was a hit in Broadway and London's West End before it was filmed in 2006. The History Boys was also staged in Christchurch last year to enthusiastic reviews. The story explores teaching methods in an all-boy grammar school, and the homosexuality of a teacher and a student. The Maidment Theatre's production will be directed by Jesse Peach and will star George Henare OBE, Annie Whittle, Todd Emerson and Shortland Street hunk Harry McNaughton. The History Boys will be on stage from Thursday 8 until Saturday 24 October. The behind the scenes video from the Auckland cast's photoshoot appears below.
