Last month's glamourous Black Tie Drag Bingo night at Auckland's Hopetoun Alpha venue raised $7,032 for the Cartier Bereavement Charitable Trust - and the Trustees are "thrilled to bits" with the response to the new event. Drag fundraiser: Beaver Brown on Bingo night The Trust helps to fund funerals for New Zealanders who die of HIV-related illness, and the Drag Bingo event was its major fundraiser for 2009. The event also acted as the official launch of the Trust's new website. The organisers wish to publically thank all those who participated in the night. "Our regular sponsors who have supported us for the last three and a half years at the bingo nights and other fundraisers, all came on board again, as did all our fantastic regular participants," say the Bingo crew. "It is these people who have enabled us to raise in excess of $22,000 for the Cartier Bereavement Trust over the last three and a half years.
