Sydney: Fake model scout makes teen strip

Tue 9 Jun 2009 In: International News

A 'chubby' Sydney man in his 50's is in trouble with New South Wales police for posing as a model scout and convincing a 19-year-old man to take his clothes off. The men met in an office in northern Sydney before the fake 'model scout' took the teenager to a bar and a restaurant over the eight-hour 'interview', which even involved taking the younger man's measurements. "Upon returning to the Newport office the man requested the younger man take his clothes off," said a police statement. "He was then taken to a second address at Avalon where the interview continued." "I think [the 19-year-old] initially believed the man to be genuinely representing a genuine business,'' a police detective told the Sydney Morning Herald. "I think it's fairly unique but we don't know if any others have been lured by this type of thing,'' said Detective Inspector Wonders.
