American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert says "I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders," as he comes out as gay in a Rolling Stone cover story. Gay cover star: Adam Lambert "I don't think it should be a surprise for anyone to hear I'm gay... I'm proud of my sexuality. I embrace it. It's just another part of me," he told the magazine. Photos of Lambert kissing a man were made public in the run-up to the final of the TV singing star show, leading America to speculate 'Are we ready for a gay American Idol?' Eventual winner Kris Allen reacted to his victory saying ""Adam deserved this. He was the most consistent person all year. He was seriously one of the most gifted performers that I've ever met." Lambert told MTV he has no regrets about coming out, and wanted to do it on his own terms. "Right after the finale, I almost started talking about it to the reporters, but I thought, 'I'm going to wait for Rolling Stone, that will be cooler,' " he told MTV. Reports suggest the survivors of legendary rock/pop band Queen want Lambert to replace Freddie Mercury and go on the road with them. CelebTV runs through the Adam Lambert story on the clip shown below.
