Only a handful of tickets are still available for next week's glamorous fundraiser of bingo, drag diva shows and supper at Auckland's historic Hopetoun Alpha building. The event will be this year's major fundraiser for The Cartier Bereavement Trust - a charity which funds funerals for Kiwis who die of HIV-related illness. The event was originally planned for April, but postponed due to an outdoor concert booked for outside the venue on the same date. Hosted by Beaver Brown and Miss Onya Nees, their drag queen showgirl guests will be Tess Tickle, Buckwheat and Felicia, and the evening will be assisted by volunteers from Rainbow Youth. "It is very exciting for all of us," say the organisers. "Please help us out by coming along and sharing in all the glam and glitz of a Black Tie Bingo. You can get as 'glammed' up as you wish for the night." The total ticket price of $75 includes four games of bingo, supper and lots of entertainment through the evening, with a variety of prizes to be won. A cash bar will also operate. Only 200 tickets were available, and now only nine are left. Black Tie Drag Bingo is planned for Friday 12 June 2009, from 7pm at Hopetoun Alpha, 19 Beresford Square, Auckland.
