5.10PM: A 40 year-old man is to appear at Auckland District Court tomorrow following a police investigation into the recent HIV predator allegations. The man, who has yet to be named, has been charged with three counts of infecting with HIV, and one count of attempted infecting with the debilitating and frequently deadly disease. The charges relate to three separate male victims who were aged 17, 24 and 26 respectively when infected with HIV, and a fourth male victim who was aged 31 when he was exposed to the disease. No information is available yet on when they became infected or where, but Detective Sergeant Andy King of Auckland's Adult Sexual Assault Team says the man "has been sexually active in both the Auckland and Wellington districts, and with both men and women." King is encouraging any members of the public with concerns regarding their health to contact a doctor or health provider as soon as possible. "Also, if they have any information helpful to the investigation, the Police investigation team can be contacted on (09) 302 6637," says King.
