Over 100 Londoners, many of them waving rainbow flags, protested on Saturday against a conference held by a conservative group discussing treating homosexuals to make them straight. No cure for love: A protester outside Saturday's 'gay cure' conference in London Among the conference speakers was American psychologist Joseph Nicolosi, who claims he can 'cure' people of homosexuality. A counselor at the protest told UKgaynews: "These therapists seem to have and unhealthy obsession with homosexuality. There is a lot of plotting and a lot of scheming going on in there." The Royal College of Psychiatrists told the BBC that there was no evidence that the treatment worked. "Furthermore, so-called treatments of homosexuality create a setting in which prejudice and discrimination can flourish."
