Teacher regrets class trip to gay bar

Mon 20 Apr 2009 In: International News View at Wayback

A Cincinnati teacher who took four High School cheerleaders to a gay strip bar has sent a written apology to school officials and offered to resign. Marketing teacher Lori Epperson said the girls "wanted to go to a gay establishment. They continued to push the issue and I told them if they were that set on going I would prefer they go with me," reports the Cincinnati Enquirer. The legal drinking age is 21 across America, but the 17 and 18 year olds were able to get shots and cosmo cocktails. One of the students was later found in the bathroom "throwing up". "I apologize for not telling you the truth from the beginning," Epperson wrote in her resignation letter. "I accept the consequences and believe I should not be in the environment where I make a negative impression on kids. I made a very bad decision that I have regretted ever since."
