Two Russian gay activists have been found guilty of 'promoting homosexuality to minors' and fined 1,500 rubles (NZ$76) each. The pair had staged carried a banner saying 'Homosexuality is normal' and 'I am proud of my homosexuality' near a school in Ryazan, southeast of Moscow. The judge ordered the banners to be destroyed. "We will now file a complaint with the Russian Constitutional Court," said Russian gay rights leader Nikolai Alekseev, who attended the protest but was not charged. Moscow city has refused to allow LGBT equality groups to hold Pride Marches for several years.
