Coronation Street's camp gay barman Sean Tully is staying in the show until at least mid-2010, as actor Antony Cotton has signed on to stick with the long-running soap and take part in heart-wrenching new storylines. Camping up Coro: actor Antony Cotton According to the Sun newspaper, Sean will find new romance at a 'Mr. Gay Weatherfield' contest in upcoming episodes. The writers promise "there's hope and heartbreak just around the corner." Actor Antony Cotton, star of the UK version of Queer as Folk, has been on Coronation Street since 2003, after asking for a part on the show and creating his Sean character with some of the writers. New Zealand's TVOne plays Coronation Street episodes just over a year after their UK transmission. Kiwi viewers have recently seen Sean become a sperm donor for barmaid Violet Wilson's pregnancy.
