Christchurch's Pride Week Committee has put together a tentative schedule for ten days of diverse LGBT events - and hopes to add many more activities to their list. Pride Week this year is planned for Friday 15 to Sunday 24 May, beginning with a UniQ/Qtopia Tea Party and ending with dinner and Ten-Pin Bowling on Sunday evening. The timetable so far also includes Ice Skating, a Family Day, Pool Night, Bingo, Speed Dating, a Quiz Night, a Car Rally and a Women's Night. The Christchurch Pride Week crew says their plans will develop into a more concrete schedule as more events are confirmed. Alex Baguley of the Committee says he's keen for feedback on last year's Pride Week, and suggestions of events for this year. Email minerva84@gmail.com to get in touch. An estimated total of 1,200 people went to at least one Christchurch Pride Week 2008 event last May, which featured over 30 events, including the premiere of LGBT community history film Through Rainbow Coloured Glasses.
