Heroes Out West event postponed

Sat 28 Feb 2009 In: New Zealand Daily News View at Wayback

1.10PM: Another major glbt event has fallen foul of the weather with this evening's Heroes Out West now postponed due to heavy rain and high winds in Auckland. Organiser Cissy Rock, who made the postponement announcement half an hour ago, says a new date for the music and entertainment event will be decided on Monday. Heroes Out West, which was to have commenced at 4 o'clock this afternoon, has attracted a strong and lesbian flavoured lineup, including The Muse, Edwina and Marilyn, Paua Fritters, Razor and will include a tribute to the late Mahinarangi Tocker. Other glbt events to be affected by the weather include last weekend's Wigs on the Waterfront at Auckland's Viaduct Harbour, which will now be held of March 22 and Out in The Square, which was to have been held in Wellington's Civic Square today but has been delayed until tomorrow, although the organisers of Out in the Square are eyeing the forecast warily, with Metservice expecting rain to gradually clear and Northerlies to strengthen in the Capital.
