'70's popstar admits to sex with men

Thu 19 Feb 2009 In: International News View at Wayback

The wife of the lead singer of 1970's pop sensation the Bay City Rollers has found out her husband cheated on her with numerous men, after he confessed on a reality TV show. Former Bay City Roller Les McKeown Les McKeown, 53, revealed that he'd been 'date-raped' by a man when he was 19. "Althought he felt abused, he found he was attracted to men," reports the Scotland on Sunday newspaper. His wife Peko is reportedly 'furious'. McKeown joked that he'd been "a bit of a George Michael" and admitted to around a dozen male lovers over the years. He became a heavy drinker, which he says was partly to block out the memory of the rape. McKeown claims he is now sober and hopes to rebuild his marriage. "I'm about 90 per cent fixed," he said. "I've had 20 years of being an alcoholic and a secret bisexual so the other 10 per cent's going to take a little longer."
