Two extraordinary avant-garde performance artists have now been lined up to host Saturday K' Road clubbing event Chelsea Boys. Dressed to inspire: DeeZaStar Beginning this weekend, DeeZaStar and Booby Tuesday take turns hosting the fortnightly event at Purple bar, which will also feature guest art exhibitions from gay artists and resident hosts. "We're re-branding Chelsea boys a little, making it a bit more avant-garde with dynamic personalities both established and new," says promoter Paul Phillips. Avant-garde: Booby Tuesday DeeZaStar has a heavy focus on wearable art and extreme costuming, whilst Booby's work is heavily focussed on the work of burlesque drag great Leigh Bowery. Both have hosted and worked clubs all over the world and have only been back in New Zealand six months or so. Chelsea Boys nights happen at Purple bar, upstairs on the corner of K' Road and Pitt Streets, Auckland. DeeZaStar is hosting and doing a show this Saturday - doors open at 10pm - and Booby Tuesday is set for Saturday 14 February.
