All-gay cruise will sail around NZ in 2010

A 5-star all-gay cruise ship will make its first journey to New Zealand in February next year. Seamen: A big boat full of gay men will be welcomed in NZ's main centres It'll be the first time an all-gay cruise liner has visited our shores. Atlantis, the world's largest gay cruise operator, will set sail from Auckland to Sydney, also stopping in Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin between 17-28 February 2010. "Join 1,400 gay and lesbian guests from around the world on this history-making voyage filled with the entertainment, parties and magic that made Atlantis famous," says the cruise company's ad in the 2009 Sydney Mardi Gras Guide. The company also hosts gay cruises around the Caribbean, Asia and the Greek Islands. "Each Atlantis cruise or resort vacation promises a carefree week or more of friendship, camaraderie, relaxation, luxury, adventure and uninhibited fun," say the crew. "We create a gay vacation environment and experience so unexpectedly special, in so many ways, that you have to try it to fully understand why our guests often call it 'the best vacation they've ever had'." The mid-February date for the cruise will mean it docks in Auckland during the traditional Hero/Pride Festival, and arrives in Sydney in time for the Mardi Gras Parade and Party.
