Mika offers free dance workshops

Fri 9 Jan 2009 In: New Zealand Daily News

Takataapui entertainer Mika is seeking movers and shakers of all shapes and sizes, colours and sexualities, to participate in a week of free takataapui dance workshops, culminating in a main stage performance at February's Big Gay Out. "Dance experience is not necessary," explains Mika. "The workshops will cater to beginners, covering a range of contemporary movement from new Hip Hop styles to old school Voguing." Supported by Auckland City and Creative Communities, evening workshops will be held at Mika Studios in Mt Roskill, Auckland, in the week commencing Monday 2 February. The resulting dance troupe will then perform on stage at the Big Gay Out in Coyle Park on Sunday 8 February. Please contact Jay Tewake at Mika Studios on 09 6206111 or email jaytewake@hotmail.com for more information.
