Wed 7 Jan 2009 In: New Zealand Daily News View at Wayback

The Auckland Lesbian Business Association will cruise the Manukau Harbour in the first official event of 2009's Pride Festival. Cruising the harbour: The Manukau Cat Setting off from Mangere Bridge at 9am on Sunday 1 February, the 40-seater MV Manukau Cat will cruise to Orua Bay and visit the restored Manukau Heads Lighthouse, featuring stunning views. Lunch will be served at Earthtalk Awhitu with hosts Tanya and Charmaine, who will show off their organic gardens. Then the 12-metre catamaran will head back to Mangere for 4pm. "Be ready to treat yourself and your partner, and tell your friends," say the ALBA team. Limited tickets are available - $75 for ALBA member, $80 for non-members - from The Women's Bookshop or by emailing alba@alba.org.nz. Since the Spring of 2000, ALBA has provided easy social settings for Auckland lesbians to meet others. Their next regular monthly social meeting at K' Road's Purple bar is scheduled for Wednesday 11 February, also during the Pride '09 Festival.
