Tue 6 Jan 2009 In: International News

The past year could have been Hollywood's "gayest ever", claims the MSN entertainment website as it wraps up the many LGBT stories of 2008. Brad Pitt donated US$100,000, while others, like George Clooney, spoke out publicly against the measure. Ex-Star Trek star George Takei and talkshow funnygirl Ellen DeGeneres both had high-profile same-sex marriages, which remain legal even though Prop 8 succeeded in November. Meanwhile, teen idol Hillary Duff took on the wisespread use of the word 'gay' as a slur in a special YouTube message, and American Idol star Clay Aiken came out in People magazine… and revealed his baby son at the same time.
