Australian health minister Nicola Roxon has admitted she made a mistake in employing two 'men's health ambassadors' who hold offensive homophobic views. The health officials, who were appointed on Tuesday, co-authored a paper that suggests gay people are more likely to molest children than heterosexuals, reports The Age. Gay equality groups care calling for the two 'ambassadors' to be sacked. The Government has dismissed one, but retained another who has distanced himself from the document. Roxon accepted full responsibility for the failure to check into the background of the men, and promised to review recruitment processes. "I am very proud of the record that the government has and I hope that the gay community will see this for the mistake it was," she said. More on this story is on the links below.
