Sweden's Prime Minister says same-sex couples should be allowed to wed from May next year, if parliament adopts legislation due to be presented shortly. But Fredrik Reinfeldt's coalition government is divided, he conceded, over whether the legislation should allow for church weddings. The Conservative Christian Democrats believe the bill should only allow for civil marriages. Reinfeldt told Swedish Radio yesterday that he's confidant that a compromise can be reached.
