Talkshow host Ellen DeGeneres has spent US$100K (NZ$163K) on TV ads urging Californians to vote 'no' on their election ballot to 'Proposition 8', which would ban gay marriage. "Please, please vote no": Ellen DeGeneres In the video message, DeGeneres speaks of "the happiest day of her life" when she wed her long-time partner Portia de Rossi back in August. "There are people out there raising millions of dollars to try to take that right away from me," she explains of same-sex marriage opponents. "You've seen their ads, they're twisting the truth, and they're trying to scare you. "I believe in compassion, I believe in fairness, and believe in equality for all people. Proposition 8 does not. Please, please vote no on Prop 8." Proposition 8 will appear on California's general election ballot next month. Ellen DeGeneres' TV ad is shown below.
