Ending years of speculation, gossip and denials, US Idol's most successful runner-up Clay Aiken has come out in a cover article in the latest People magazine. Coverboy: Clay Aiken comes out The singer rose to fame in the second season of the American TV talent show, and has released successful solo albums since. Aiken recently had a son with Jaymes Foster, the sister of record producer David Foster, but the baby's birth last month did not quash rumours that the pop star might be gay. Pictured with his tiny son on People's cover, Aiken is reported to have opened up about his sexuality in an 'emotional interview'. "I cannot raise a child to lie or to hide things," the cover quotes him. The news came as no surprise widely-read gay blogger Perez Hilton, who posted the cover under the headline 'Finally!!!!!' "Welcome to the gaybourhood, daddy!" typed Hilton.
