Bisexual electronica musician and gay icon Peaches will land in New Zealand this week for a concert in Auckland and sell-out show in Wellington. See you this week: Peaches Originally a school teacher, Canadian-born Peaches was dubbed "the respectable voice of the filthy" by the London Observer in 2006, but there is certainly no shame or ambiguity in her mix of gender politics, tongue-in-cheek vulgarity, and rock'n'roll take on electro dancefloor styles. Her subversive show – which has been described as a "one-woman Kiss concert", is on at Auckland's Powerstation this Wednesday night, and Wellington's San Francisco Bath House the following night. Peaches has performed in Auckland previously at the Big Day Out, and her show this week will be followed by an after-party organised by the crew that plan Sohomo clubbing nights. The event begins at 11:30pm at the 4:20 venue on K' Road, will feature Peaches' support artist Hawnay Troof and DJs A.d.a.m., Andrew Tidball and Meltron. Thursday night's concert will be Peaches' first visit to Wellington. The show, in Cuba Street's intimate San Francisco Bath House, has sold out.
