Hollywood A-lister Brad Pitt says he'll donate US$100,000 to fight California's controversial Proposition 8, which would eliminate same-sex couples' right to marry. Big money to support gay marriage: Brad Pitt "Because no one has the right to deny another their life, even though they disagree with it, because everyone has the right to live the life they so desire if it doesn't harm another and because discrimination has no place in America, my vote will be for equality and against Proposition 8," says Pitt in a statement. Proposition 8 will appear on California's general election in November. Thousands of dollars have been donated to various groups on both sides of the gay marriage issue in recent weeks, reports the LA Times. One philanthropist from Utah gave US$1million to fight the proposed ban. Hundreds of gay and lesbian couples have been wed California since the state's Supreme Court overturned the ban on same-sex marriages in June, among them high-profile couples like Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi.
