Outspoken media personality Sir Bob Jones says a "lesbian takeover of Wellington" is behind a new law requiring a court jury 'foreman' to instead be called a 'foreperson'. Sir Bob Jones: "It's a lesbian takeover!" Justice Ministry district courts spokeswoman Kate Penny says the wording change is consistent with the move to gender neutral language in statute law and reflected language generally used in court. But Sir Bob is sure it's silly and an abuse of language, reports the Southland Times. "It's typical of the Government where they have gone berserk with this sort of stuff," Sir Bob opined. "It's not a feminist takeover, it's a lesbian takeover in Wellington." "There's hardly a Government head that's not a lesbian ... so many lesbians are in top jobs and they don't want to acknowledge any sex," the maverick millionaire continued. "It's a neutralisation of sex instead of saying foreman or forewoman."
