Lesbian couple's $35,000 wedding bid

Mon 11 Aug 2008 In: New Zealand Daily News

Two women from Belmont, Wellington make up one of five couples in the running to win their entire wedding – worth $35,000 – in a radio station promotion. Wanting a wedding: Amie Clisby have two children from previous marriages – Arran aged 11 and Abraham aged 6 – and say they are excited to have found their soul mates second time around. The five couples in the contest have been profiled online and in live Classic Hits breakfast show broadcasts. To win their dream wedding, Clisby and Abrahams need to have received more online votes than the four other couples in the promotion. Abrahams says at 5 foot 11 she would look hot in a Frank Casey suit even if she is a chick – and that Amie would look stunningly hot in a bridal gown. "We are really keen to pledge their love to each other and share the rest of their lives together right up until we're in their mobility scooters with racing stripes on the side," the couple told the radio station. The promotion's winners will be announced on Wellington's Classic Hits 90FM breakfast show on Friday 22 August, with the wedding scheduled to take place on Friday 5 September 2008. Amie Clisby and Kim Abrahams' online voting form is on the link below.
