The staffing of long-running Auckland-based LGBT magazine Express is in flux as sources close to the publication advise that the entire editorial team has been made redundant. Today several reliable sources close to the fortnightly publication told GayNZ.com that Managing Editor Owen Allison and two other key members of staff were notified late last week that they were no longer required by Express publisher Richard Todd. When contacted this afternoon Todd did not deny members of his team were departing, but said he "could not comment on that at this stage". Allison and other members of the magazine's team did not return calls. Allison became Express's Managing Editor in June 2007, with TV2's reality-style LGBT series The Outlook showing his arrival into the role. The long-running publication moved to smaller offices and reduced its page count in a design revamp earlier this year. Express's most recent issue was published on 30 July, with Allison writing in his editorial that "we will be back in two weeks with more news for living a successful gay life."
