A 49-year-old Melbourne man has been convicted of knowingly spreading HIV to other men at orgies he called 'conversion' parties. Guilty: Michael John Neal The County Court jury returned their verdict yesterday afternoon on Michael John Neal, finding him guilty of 15 charges, including attempting to infect another person with HIV, rape and procuring sexual penetration by fraud. The court heard Neal was diagnosed as HIV positive in June 2000, then organised "conversion" sex parties and wore a genital piercing to make it easier to transmit the disease, reports the Herald Sun.
