Mon 28 Jul 2008 In: New Zealand Daily News View at NDHA

The man found dead in an Auckland street near Lateshift cruise club early on Friday morning has been named as Gregory Brice, aged 43, from Freeman's Bay. Greg Brice Brice was openly gay, and had recently worked in production for Front of the Box, makers of Maori Television's Takataapui series. He leaves behind his long-term partner Alan. Police spokesperson Noreen Hegarty confirmed that there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death. The coroner has yet to confirm the cause of his death, which was possibly a fall or medical condition. It is not known whether Brice entered Lateshift on the night he died, however a staff member who closed the club in the early hours of Friday morning is sure Brice's body was not at that stage in the street parking space where it was subsequently found. His funeral service will be held at Grange Manor, 400 Dominion Road, Mt Eden this Wednesday at 12:30pm, followed by private cremation. Gifts/tributes can be sent to the Brice Family, C/- PO Box 56013, Dominion Road, Auckland, 1446.
