The team behind Wellington's Out in the Square Gay and Lesbian Fair says their Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 15 July will be a chance for the community to give feedback on the event and gain ideas and new volunteers for next year's celebration in Civic Square. Out in the Square: UniQ's 'Fairies' decorate the capital The inaugural Out in the Square day on Saturday 1 March 2008 featured live singers and shows in the Civic Square, along with stalls providing food, wine, merchandise and information on the capital's LGBT community groups. Despite the threat of rain, the event attracted thousands of attendees and onlookers. The AGM will include a briefing on Out in the Square 2008, a chance for feedback from the community on the society's activities, and elections for executive positions including chair, vice-chair, secretary and treasurer. Out Wellington Inc. is extending an invitation to the wider community to come along and get involved in this community event, and will be accepting applications from potential members of the society. The AGM will take place at 6pm on Tuesday 15 July 2008 at the NZAF's Awhina Centre, Level 1, 187 Willis Street.
