George FM's weekly gay show ends

Thu 12 Jun 2008 In: New Zealand Daily News View at Wayback

One in Ten, New Zealand's only nationwide gay radio show, has ended its run on George FM after 15 months on air. Hosts 'Billy and Bob' brought listeners interviews with influential LGBT people, a 'what's on' guide, news reports and a mix of music each Monday night for two hours from 10pm. But now that both the original hosts have decided to move on to other projects, the radio station has rested the programme. The last episode of One in Ten was broadcast on 3 June. 'Bob' left a few months ago due to work commitments, and 'Billy' has a new fill-in DJ role on Base 107.3FM. The programme's timeslot has now gone to Auckland DJ Andrew Tidball and guests with their Quay Street Social Club show. It's Time To Get Dumb, featuring DJ's who play at K' Road's Sohomo clubbing night, follows after midnight until 2am on Tuesday morning. GayNZ.com's audio collection of One in Ten radio interviews from 2007 will remain on our Podcast page as an archive.
