AKL: Burnett Centre's 'Mother' Karen quits

Mon 9 Jun 2008 In: New Zealand Daily News View at Wayback

Karen Ritchie, who's affectionately known as the "mother" of Auckland's HIV testing and counselling Burnett Centre, has announced she will leave her long-term front desk role there later this month. Packing up her desk: Karen Ritchie Ritchie will continue to front the Cartier Bereavement Charitable Trust - the funeral-funding charity that's also close to her heart - but her last day with the Burnett Centre will be Monday 23 June. She says she's looking at other career opportunities at the moment - one job she's interested in is as a Probation Officer. Ritchie's many friends in the community will have a chance say farewell at her special leaving party, to be held at the Burnett Centre on her last day.
