Fri 6 Jun 2008 In: New Zealand Daily News View at Wayback

A new novel from lesbian writer Pat Rosier will be launched with a special event at Ponsonby's Women's Bookshop next week. Pat Rosier Take it Easy explores Sapphic relationships and the meaning of family. "Isobel is confronted with a decision from over thirty years ago she thought she had dealt with," reveals the books' blurb. "Gaps widen in her relationship with her partner Iris, as Isobel digs back into her past, seeking understanding of herself and the meaning of family." The Paekakariki-based novelist and non-fiction writer will launch the book on a flying visit to Auckland as she heads overseas. Rosier, a former editor of literary periodical Broadsheet, has published numerous books including a New Zealand Women's Studies Handbook. Bookshop manager Carole Beu says Rosier helped her set up the original Women's Bookshop in Dominion Road almost twenty years ago. Take it Easy will be launched with a reading by Rosier, along with drinks and nibbles, at 6pm, Monday 9 June at the Women's Bookshop, 105 Ponsonby Road, Auckland.
