"Labour's gay bias" - Clarkson's parting shot

Sun 18 May 2008 In: New Zealand Daily News View at Wayback

Soon-to-be ex-MP Bob Clarkson has attacked the Labour Government for what he sees as a bias towards gays, lesbians, and "hairy-legged ladies". Not shutting up: Bob Clarkson (photo: NZ Herald) "They favour one section of society and that's homosexuals and lesbians. That's unfair," he ranted to the Sunday News. "I have a little bit of a problem with that but that's their choice and good luck to them," he concluded. Clarkson, National's Tauranga MP, announced he was quitting politics last week, and now the 69-year-old - who has a history of anti-gay remarks - has let rip with potentially embarrassing comments again. "I don't want to be mean... but what makes me struggle is why does Labour favour the hairy-legged ladies?" he also declared. The full Sunday News story is on the link below.
