Mike Huckabee. Future President. Not! Christian website Belief.net: "Is it your goal to bring the Constitution into strict conformity with the Bible? Some people would consider that a kind of dangerous undertaking, particularly given the variety of biblical interpretations." US Republican Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee: "Well, I don't think that's a radical view to say we're going to affirm marriage. I think the radical view is to say that we're going to change the definition of marriage so that it can mean two men, two women, a man and three women, a man and a child, a man and animal. Again, once we change the definition, the door is open to change it again. I think the radical position is to make a change in what's been historic." US Republican Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee is under the misapprehension that there is some strange linkage between same-sex marriage and improper relationships with animals. Not. Let's analyse what information we have about zoophilia to date. Most zoophile offences occur within rural areas, mostly against livestock on farm properties, and are carried out by those with intellectual disabilities, social skill deficits and substance abuse problems. Given these demographic attributes, it is difficult to envisage a zoophile "rights" movement, let alone one for legalisation of human/animal couples. By contrast, LGBT citizens are mostly metropolitan, largely due to the greater social diversity of most urban areas and greater facility in encountering and maintaining LGBT social networks. However, conservative Christians also inhabit rural demographic areas, precisely due to narrow band demographics and social restrictions, and indeed, Brian Tamaki himself has drawn attention to problems amongst one of his rural pastoral settings (...) where some members of his flock (...) lusted after those of the ovine, porcine or bovine persuasion. Rural Swedish Pentecostal Ake Green also lamented rural youth of limited intellectual and social achievement and their attraction toward unfortunate cows when he lambasted Swedish LGBT communities. How do these subjects clump together within the fundamentalist mind? As one might guess, that archaic portmanteau term "sodomy" has much to do with it. This term is a medieval mishmash of any form of nonprocreative, nonheterosexual, nonconsensual and nonhuman sex imaginable. It is in this bizarre worldview that such activities are freely associated with one another, not within observable evidence-based forensic psychological research into animal sexual abuse. As for Mike Huckabee, it is a sad commentary on the US Republican Party that this man is still considered as a serious contender for that party's presidential nomination...
