Wellington's Glamazons will tour Hamilton

Watch out in the Waikato - Wellington's drag band The Glamazons are heading to Hamilton for a string of shows in late February. The Glamazons plan to "rock the 'Tron" On Thursday 21 February, the girls - Natasha Crowe, La Toya Jacksin, Ellie Kat and Victoria - will join Miss Gloriousole at the Hamilton Gardens for the Madames and Miss Symphony Damned Butterfly as part of the Hamilton Gardens Summer Arts Festival - billed as "a night of sophistication with a dash of campness". Puccini's opera favourite Madam Butterfly will get an outrageous homage when Hamilton's resident drag icon Miss Gloriousole and international guest performers host an evening of drag tomfoolery combining musical comedy, grand opera, pathos, and sparkling Las Vegas glamour. The divas will lampoon and pay tribute to the musical works of Puccini Sondheim, Bacharach and Sinatra, and honour Cho Cho San, Geisha Madame Butterfly. The Hamilton Gardens Festival is on through 15-24 February, featuring an eclectic mix of music, comedy, theatre, film, opera, readers
