Help needed for February's Big Gay Out

Stallholders, entertainers and volunteers for 2008's Big Gay Out fair day in Auckland are now being invited to come forward, says organiser Jonathan Smith. Helen Clark helps Chris Carter and Peter Kaiser cut their civil union cake at this year's Big Gay Out The date for the annual celebration of Auckland's LGBT communities, which regularly attracts crowds of over 10,000 people, has been set for Sunday, 10 February. "We're going to need well over 60 volunteers for the day," Smith says. "Even it's just for an hour, we really need your support." The Big Gay Out is organised and sponsored by the New Zealand AIDS Foundation and Marquis Condoms as a vehicle for raising HIV awareness, building strong communities, and encouraging safe sex behaviour among gay and bisexual men.
