AKL: Fluffy night raises $400 for OUTline

Mon 19 Nov 2007 In: New Zealand Daily News

Auckland's new Friday gay dance club has raised $400 for LGBT support network OUTline. Fluffy Go-Go Dancers Organiser Steven Lee says the first two Fluffy Fridays at Kiss - 309 K' Road - were a "sensational success". "Fluffy has proved itself as the new place to be for early night drinking and dancing on Friday nights," he says, "all with an emphasis on light, fluffy fun and entertainment." OUTline (formally Gayline) manager Neil Denney says he's very grateful for the donation received from the Fluffy's opening night, which will go towards supporting the hard-working volunteers on the phone lines. "We now have 70 volunteers, and this donation will help with things like tea and coffee for them during their shifts," he says. The official launch of OUTline's new name has been put back until the New Year, subject to the availability of the Prime Minister, who Denney is hoping can attend the launch.
