Tue 6 Nov 2007 In: International News View at Wayback

"If you're a girl who likes girls who likes games, you've found your place on the internet," says a new website launched in Australia that will feature video game content for lesbian video gamers by lesbian video gamers. With the tagline "Because sometimes we use our hands for other things," the blog-style website is aimed at gay women across the globe. "Guys have plenty of gaming sites to visit and gay guys have a couple also," says the site's content manger Angela Simpson. "While these aren't strictly designated guys only, the membership is heavily weighted in that area, so we're hoping to even out that balance, by giving women their own space. "There are a lot of lesbian gamers and we're hoping they'll support what we're trying to do," she added. Stunned to find the lesbiangamers.com domain name available, the girls behind the project set out on a mission and started the site, which will feature daily news, articles, a forum, shoutbox and reviews – all with a little pinch of tongue-in-cheek lesbian sprinkles. Based on the on the sunny Gold Coast, Lesbian Gamers.com launched at the beginning of this month and is hoping to gain support from not only the lesbian community, but the gaming world also.
