Tue 23 Oct 2007 In: New Zealand Daily News

Local free-to-air TV channel Prime will show new episodes of lesbian drama The L Word on Sunday nights from this weekend. The L Word's Leisha Hailey Prime played the first two series of the popular Californian drama, then ended the show's local prime-time run back in May, with their spokesperson promising it would return later this year. The third season - never before transmitted in New Zealand - will begin at 9.40pm on Sunday 28th October. The first episode shows a visit to a sex therapist, the embarrassing effect of a painful break-up, and two very different health issues. Season four has completed its run the States, with Cybill Shephard joining the cast a starring role. A fifth season of 12 episodes is now in production, with an official US première date of 6 January 2008. The series is remained popular, inspiring several fan websites and The L Word conventions in the US and UK.     Ref: GayNZ.com (m)
