A new website aims to find love matches for single Catholics - as long as they're straight. Wellington couple Clare and Glen Omvig, who themselves met over the internet, are officially launching the site at www.catholicmatchmaker.co.nz on 29 September, reports the Christchurch Press. Clare Omvig said the site already had more than 140 people signed up, but if gay people try to join, they would be banned and sent a letter advising them of the 'inappropriateness' of the request. The NZ AIDS Foundation's South Island health promoter Brent Mitchell said it was unfair for the site to exclude gays. "It's discriminatory. If it's for Catholics and if you are a Catholic, it shouldn't matter what your sexuality is," he told the Press. The full Christchurch Press story is on the link below. Ref: Christchurch Press (m)
