Sunny skies at Queenstown's Gay Ski Week

Thu 6 Sep 2007 In: New Zealand Daily News

A dumping of new snow, and not a cloud in the sky - the conditions couldn't be better as Queentown's Gay Ski Week continues. The Remarkables was covered with more than 25cm of snow on Tuesday night, and snow was still falling yesterday. Sunshine is predicted for the rest of the week and roads in the area are clear. Auckland drag diva Miss Ribena is in Queenstown this week, and discovering lots of activities off the slopes. Speaking from today's tour of Central Otago's world-renowned wineries, she said her trip has been "beautiful" so far. Ribena hosted last night's 'Queenstown's Got Talent' karaoke contest at the Sky City Alpine Casino. "It was fabulous," she chuckles. "There would have been about 220 people there. With a good mix of gay and straight. It was a great night." Tonight's event is retro Ten Pin Bowling, then tomorrow night's 'White Out Party' - Queenstown's biggest annual LGBT dance party - will feature guest DJ's from Sydney and California.     Ref: GayNZ.com (m)
