Auckland's 35-year-old LGBT community counselling and information telephone service 'Gayline/Lesbianline' will soon be renamed ‘OUTLine NZ', and General Manager Neil Denney says their competition to design a new logo for the revamp is progressing well. "We've had several logos sent to us - very interesting ones so far and all very different," he reveals. From Auckland Gay and Lesbian Welfare's inception in 1972, its main focus has been its telephone service, originally named Gayline, but known as GayLine/LesbianLine since 1982. The organisation has over seventy active telephone volunteers who have all gone through an intensive course of training and supervision. All staff - voluntary or paid - are gay or lesbian. The designer of the chosen logo will win a night for two at five-star luxury resort Umoya Lodge in the Hunua Ranges, with a four course dinner, wine and breakfast. The closing date to get logo designs in to the contest by is next Friday, 14th September. Full details and a copy of the brief can be obtained from Gayline on 09 309 3268.
