A lesbian soldier who gave her partner a "repugnant" and cruel prolonged beating on Valentine's Day faces an uncertain future in the army, but may save the relationship, reports the Dominion Post. The soldier, 33, who has permanent name suppression, had pleaded guilty to assault and was sentenced to 250 hours community work when she appeared in the Palmerston North District Court yesterday.
