Ponsonby Road's latest gay hang-out is now open on Ponsonby Road, following a ‘sneak peek' party last night. ‘Dorothy's Sister' café/bar owner Peter A. Taylor opened the new establishment last night in typically camp style – wearing full make-up, ‘a day at the races'-style big hat, and sparkling dangly earrings. The two-level ‘local for the locals' at 265 Ponsonby Road was known until two weeks ago as ‘Logos', and comes complete with a ‘trippy garden' out back. Taylor has given the bar a makeover, with chandeliers, homoerotic artworks, and several framed pairs of stilettos on the walls. The upbeat, colourful and friendly vibe brings back to Ponsonby Road the atmosphere of the popular ‘Surrender Dorothy's' bar, which closed eighteen months ago. ‘Dorothy's Sister' is open seven days from 9.30am. Pictures from last night's opening party are available to view in GayNZ.com's ‘Out and About' pictures section.     Ref: GayNZ.com (m)
